Things we take for granted…

we take for granted that clean, pure water will come out of our taps. we take for granted that our sprinkler systems will work in the event of a fire. with a Salamander Reservoir, we can only help building owners see problems within their sprinkler systems before they become the stuff of nightmares! rely on data; not on gut feeling (or ignorance)! #buildings #salamanderreservoir #facilitymanagers #fireprotection #IoT #IOTtuesday #IOTuesday #pipefreeze #preventpipefreeze #proptech #putasalamanderinthesystem #salamanderreservoir #sprinklerssavelives #thefutureissmart ...

A Building Manager’s Worst Nightmare..?

Headline from Propmodo, "Vacancy is a Building Manager's Worst Nightmare" There are worse things out there, and i'm thinking of compromised sprinkler systems. could you imagine dealing with knowing a sprinkler pipe is frozen a day before an event instead of a day after an event?! With the Salamander Reservoir, you can be alerted to problems before they become the stuff of nightmares! original article link here #buildings #covid19 #salamanderreservoir #energysavings #facilitymanagers #fireprotection #IoT #IOTuesday #pipefreeze #preventpipefreeze #proptech #putasalamanderinthesystem #salamanderreservoir #sprinklerssavelives #thefutureissmart ...

Installation: as easy as 1-2-3!

Salamander Reservoir: Installation on a Wet Sprinkler System Step 1: Preparation for Installation Recommended installation begins after a sprinkler technician has installed a nipple, ball valve and plug to receive the Salamander Reservoir. Step 2: Attach the Salamander Reservoir Leave the ball valve between the system and the Salamander Reservoir in the closed position and attach the Salamander Reservoir. Be sure to leave the Salamander Reservoir’s ball valve slightly ajar before beginning Step 3. Step 3: Bleed the Air from the Reservoir Slowly open the ball valve between the system and the Salamander Reservoir about a quarter of a turn. This will allow the reservoir to fully fill with water, and bled out any air from the system. Once water has bled out of the bleed valve for a few seconds, close the ball valve on the Salamander Reservoir, and screw in the ball valve plug. The Reservoir is now full of water, and at equal pressure to the rest of the sprinkler system. Step 4: Final Positioning Fully open the ball valve between the system and the Salamander Reservoir and ensure connectivity between the sensor and the gateway. #buildings #salamanderreservoir #facilitymanagers #fireprotection #IoT #IOTtuesday #salamanderreservoir #sprinklerssavelives #proptech #putasalamanderinthesystem ...

How would you know…?

a dry sprinkler system is designed to be filled with pressurized air. in the event of a fire, the head would melt, and trigger a pressure change in the system, releasing the dry pipe valve which would let water pass through the system to get to the fire. here's the question, though: What if there was water in the system, when would you know? likely the answer would be: on the date that a technician is scheduled to check the auxiliary drain on the date of the first freeze event. The Salamander Reservoir and Control System alerts to a compromises when they happen. …but how secure is your IoT network?

It's great that so many devices are connected to the internet, but at what cost? the gateways and sensors used by JTJ Tech for Salamander Reservoirs communicate using Encrypt-RF® which bank-level security. It features a 256-bit exchange to establish a global unique key, and an AES-128 CTR for all data messages. So security is maintained at all communication points from the sensor to the gateway, the gateway to software, and back again. Know what you're getting: The Salamander Reservoir provides that extra layer of security for your fire safety systems. We would settle for nothing less from our sensors and gateways.
