It’s important to know what’s going on inside your pipe system, hence the Salamander Reservoir. While we’re more focused on preventing pipe freeze, we just found out that water can get too hot inside of a fire sprinkler system causing heads to burst and discharge. A technician from Anchor Fire recently described a thermostat and heater that malfunctioned in a commercial sprinkler room. The temperature inside the room – and inside the pipes – was over 145° – causing sprinkler heads to burst and discharge because the water inside was too hot!
As a result of this story, we were able to add another programming feature to alert of excessively high temperatures to ownership & management before there’s a problem.
